The Grand Haven Township Sheriff’s Office has released new details following a serious crash involving a bicyclist on December 14. According to officials, the incident took place at approximately 6:13 p.m. on Mercury Drive near Lake Avenue.
Authorities report that 25-year-old Deavieon White, a Grand Haven resident, was riding his bicycle northwest along Mercury Drive when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The impact caused White to fall to the roadway, where he was subsequently struck by two additional vehicles.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but despite their efforts, White tragically did not survive. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, and no further details regarding the drivers or vehicles involved have been released at this time.
Family, friends, and the local community are mourning the sudden loss of White, a young life cut far too short. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
