KENOSHA, Wis. — A heartbreaking incident on Thanksgiving night has left a Kenosha family and the wider community in deep sorrow.
Late Thursday, emergency responders were called to an apartment building on 43rd Avenue, just south of 52nd Street, after reports of heavy smoke and flames. Crews arrived around 10:30 p.m. to find one of the units intensely affected, with thick smoke making entry extremely difficult, according to Battalion Chief Todd Leipzig.
Firefighters worked urgently to bring the situation under control, but the impact of the incident has been deeply felt throughout the neighborhood.
Young Siblings Remembered
Family, friends, and neighbors are now coming together to honor three young siblings whose lives were tragically cut short in the incident:
Rylee Kannin, age 10
Connor Kannin, age 9
Alena Kannin, age 7
