Authorities Seek Next of Kin After Woman Found Deceased at Martinsville Hotel
MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — The Morgan County Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the next of kin of a woman who was found deceased at a local hotel on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Authorities have identified the woman as 62-year-old Christina Georgianna Lyons, who was discovered unresponsive inside a room at the Holiday Inn Express, located on the south side of Martinsville. Emergency responders were called to the scene after hotel staff found Lyons and immediately contacted authorities. Despite efforts from paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Morgan County Coroner’s Office, along with the Martinsville Police Department, is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. At this time, officials have not released any details indicating foul play. Preliminary findings suggest that her passing may have been due to natural or medical causes, but an official cause of death will be determined following an autopsy and toxicology report.
Coroner Mike Ellis stated that locating Ms. Lyons’ family members is now a top priority. “We want to make sure her loved ones are notified and supported during this very difficult time,” Ellis said in a statement. “Anyone who may have known Christina or has information about her family is urged to contact our office as soon as possible.”
Hotel guests and staff members expressed shock and sadness upon learning of the incident. One employee shared, “She seemed like a quiet, kind woman. We just hope her family can be found soon so they can get the closure they need.”
Investigators are currently piecing together Christina Lyons’ recent whereabouts and personal history in hopes of identifying any relatives or close acquaintances. Authorities believe she may have been traveling through the area or temporarily residing at the hotel prior to her death.
