West Milton Man Killed Wife and Coworker Before Taking His Own Life in Double Murder-Suicide

WEST MILTON, Ohio — Authorities in Miami County are investigating a deeply disturbing case that has left the community in shock after police discovered the bodies of three people connected to what they describe as a double murder-suicide.

According to West Milton Police, 34-year-old Jacob E. Prichard killed his wife, 33-year-old Jaymee M. Prichard, and a coworker, 25-year-old Jaime S. Gustitus of Sugarcreek Township, before taking his own life early Saturday morning.

The grim discovery unfolded outside the West Milton Municipal Building, where officers responding to a welfare check found Jacob Prichard deceased inside his vehicle. When police searched the car, they found the body of his wife, Jaymee Prichard, hidden in the trunk. The shocking scene prompted an immediate and extensive investigation involving local and county law enforcement agencies.

Investigators soon linked the deaths to an earlier homicide scene in Sugarcreek Township, where officers discovered the body of Jaime Gustitus, a 25-year-old woman who had worked with Jacob. Preliminary findings suggest that Prichard fatally shot Gustitus at her residence before returning home and killing his wife. After committing both murders, police believe he drove to West Milton, parked outside the municipal building, and took his own life.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact motives behind the killings but confirmed that all three victims had known each other through work. Investigators are reviewing digital evidence, communications, and witness statements to piece together the timeline of events leading up to the tragedy.

“This is a devastating situation for the families of the victims and for our entire community,” West Milton Police Chief Daryl Wright said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this senseless act of violence.”

Neighbors and coworkers described both Jaymee and Jaime as kind, compassionate women whose lives were cut short far too soon. Friends have begun sharing heartfelt tributes online, remembering Jaymee for her warmth and dedication to her family, and Jaime for her optimism and caring spirit.

The discovery has rattled residents of West Milton and Sugarcreek Township, two tight-knit communities now grappling with grief and disbelief. Crisis counselors and victim advocates have been made available to support family members and those impacted by the tragedy.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging the public to keep the victims’ families in their thoughts and to seek help if they or someone they know is experiencing relationship turmoil or emotional distress.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a painful reminder of the lasting impact of domestic violence and mental health struggles. Law enforcement officials reaffirm their commitment to providing support services and preventing similar tragedies in the future.

More information will be released as investigators complete their reports and the families make final arrangements for their loved ones.
