Philadelphia Fire Department medics responded quickly after receiving reports of a serious early-morning roadway incident involving a bicyclist. Emergency crews provided immediate care at the scene before transporting the rider, a 54-year-old man, to Lankenau Hospital for further treatment. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, he was later declared deceased at the hospital at approximately 4:47 a.m.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division has taken over the case and is working to determine exactly what led to the incident.
