HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – The community is rallying around a grieving family in the wake of an unimaginable loss. Bentlee Whitley, a 13-year-old girl from Missouri, passed away following a tragic accident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) during Thanksgiving break.
According to her family, Bentlee was involved in a crash in which her vehicle struck a tree. The impact caused severe injuries, including trauma to her chest and head, which ultimately led to a critical brain injury. She was transported to a hospital in Memphis, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit.
After days of uncertainty and hope, Bentlee’s parents faced the heartbreaking decision to discontinue life support. Her father, Malcom Springer, expressed the profound grief the family is experiencing: “Our hearts are just broken so bad. We’re just trying to figure out how we’re going to make it as a family.”
Friends, neighbors, and members of the broader community have shared messages of support, highlighting the deep impact Bentlee had in her short life.
