Tuscaloosa Man Detained in Connection With November Fatal Incident

Authorities in Tuscaloosa have taken a young man into custody in connection with the fatal incident involving a 38-year-old resident.

Officials confirmed that 20-year-old Jamarcus Raheem Jordan is now facing charges related to the death of Lakendrick Rayshon Dunn, who passed away in late November.

At the beginning of the inquiry, investigators noted that there were claims suggesting the situation might have involved self-protection. However, as the case progressed, detectives gathered additional details — including technical evidence linked to the items recovered at the scene and new information from follow-up conversations with individuals familiar with what happened. This expanded review ultimately resulted in formal charges being filed against Jordan.

Tuscaloosa officers were called to the 600 block of 30th Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. on November 23, following reports of a person who had been seriously harmed. When first responders arrived, they discovered Dunn, who was unable to be revived.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the event, though more updates are expected as the case develops.
